If you have the chance to go on a girls’ trip to Europe with your best girlfriends, you want it to be a big and exciting adventure! You know you want to eat great food, experience great weather, and participate in a lot of activities, and most European destinations offer all of that and more. The biggest decision you’ll have to make is about where you’ll go, and that’s where this list comes in. Here are five possible itineraries for your next girls trip to Europe:

Prague

While Paris or London are beautiful destinations, they’re usually the most common cities picked for vacations in Europe. For your next girls trip, mix it up and head to Prague. The capital city of the Czech Republic has been becoming a more popular place to visit over the years due to it’s incredible culture, vibrant nightlife, and delicious food and drinks you can get at any of the city’s incredible restaurants.

Take a guided tour of Prague Castle. This castle complex was first constructed in 870 and is currently the official office of the Czech president and home of the Bohemian Crown Jewels. Try some of the local favorites such as beefsteak tartare or svickova, a dish that generally includes beef covered in a delicious vegetable sauce. Czechoslovakia has an interesting food culture that’s also influenced by the surrounding areas. Once you get your fill of historic sites and great food, head out on the town to any of the city’s exciting nightclubs.

Iceland

Iceland has been a popular tourist destination for many years due to its natural beauty and mystical landscapes. It’s also a relatively cheap place to get to with many affordable flights arriving in the country regularly. Start in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city. The city is walkable and full of restaurants, clubs, and bars where you can dance the night away. It’s a small city but it has plenty to do!

Reykjavik is also a great place to be if you are hoping to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. The city sees about 20 hours of darkness between the months of September and April therefore this is the time where you’ll have the best chance to see this iconic phenomenon. You can drive to various viewpoints on your own or book a guided tour.

A trip to Iceland isn’t complete without a stop at the Blue Lagoon. It’s one of Iceland’s most famous destinations and the healing properties of the milky blue water draw visitors from all over the world.

Wine Regions of Spain

For a less obvious retreat for wine lovers, head to Spain. The country is full of incredible history, arts, and culture, and has plenty to do that would appeal to any group. Start in La Rioja, a famed wine region that produces some incredible barrel-aged red wines. They’re typically made from Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes and have sweet notes of berries. You can visit vineyards together and sample the wine, or you can book a guided tour and learn more about the way wine is produced together.

Next, head to the Ribera del Duero region which borders the Duero River. The wines produced here are also largely red wines – it has a similar climate to La Rioja. There are more than 300 wineries to choose from in this area, so if you don’t know where to start consider Casajús. This winery was founded in 1993 by José Alberto Calvo Casajús but the vineyard dates back to the 1920s when the founder’s grandparents first planted the vineyards on the property.

If you prefer whites, consider Rueda. This region is centrally located and produces wines made from Verdejo grapes. Sip on some crisp white wines while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The aromatic blends produced here are in sharp contrast to the red wines you might taste in nearby regions.

Mykonos

If you’re looking for an incredible beach retreat or an iconic nightlife scene you’ll be able to find it in Mykonos. It’s a popular spot for many and you’ve probably seen images of its blue water pop up on social media before. You can plan a vacation here that balances experiencing a local culture with relaxing on the beach and partying if you’re so inclined.

For shopping, visit the vibrant Matogianni Street, a picturesque alley lined with beautiful shops and cafes if you’d like a bite to eat. The Alefkandra area is also a great place to explore. It’s nicknamed “Little Venice” and as you might expect there are many colorful buildings that overlook the water.

Mykonos has many incredible culinary experiences for you to try. If you and your friends are foodies, you’re in luck here. You can try a variety of cheeses such as kopanisti, a spicy and salty type of cheese, or tyrovolia, a soft cheese made from sheep, goats, or cow’s milk. You can indulge in honey pie or onion pie – both options feature cheese as well. From fresh salads to sweet and savory baked goods, you’ll always have something new to try on your trip to Mykonos.

Italy

You could spend a lifetime in Italy and still not see everything, so don’t expect to fit everything in on your girls’ trip here. It’s important to plan with your group and see what everyone wants to do, but it’s especially important here because of how many options there are throughout this beautiful and historic country. There are plenty of options, but if you don’t know where to start, here’s an option to start.

Start your trip in Rome. You could spend your whole trip here and be busy the whole time. For a historic excursion, visit the Colosseum, an oval amphitheater that dates back to 70 AD. It’s the largest amphitheater ever built. The Trevi Fountain is also located in Rome and you can head there and toss a coin over your left shoulder with your right hand into the water.

Head to Venice, and travel by gondola through the city’s historic waterways. You can’t drive within the city, so it has a unique and historic charm.

For a more luxurious retreat, head north to Lake Como. This is the place to be if you and your group want to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. It’s also an idyllic retreat where you can relax and unwind in any of the beautiful resorts in the region.
